Twenty-three building plans approved in September

The Buildings Department approved 23 building plans in September, with three on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and 14 in the New Territories.

Of the approved plans, four were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, five were for commercial developments, five were for factory and industrial developments, and nine were for community services developments.

In the same month, consent was given for works to start on 13 building projects which, when completed, will provide 94 220 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 2 252 units, and 554 429 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of superstructure works for nine building projects.

The department also issued 21 occupation permits, with three on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and 16 in the New Territories.

Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 21 956 sq m involving 612 units, and 94 586 sq m was for non-domestic use.

The declared cost of new buildings completed in September totalled about $3.6 billion.

In addition, six demolition consents involving six building structures were issued.

The department received 2 616 reports about unauthorised building works (UBWs) in September and issued 912 removal orders on UBWs.
