Welcome to the Buildings Department Central Data Bank. Users are reminded of the use of the Central Data Bank and their responsibilities when using the Data Bank as set out in the Central Data Bank Important Notes. Further, it should be noted that all relevant legislation including the Buildings Ordinance has to be complied with and the supply of any information contained in the Central Data Bank is without prejudice to the requirements to comply with all relevant legislation including the Buildings Ordinance.
Please note that the Central Data Bank (CDB) contains only historical information on material acceptance in respect of a building or building works. Therefore, the Buildings Department will not accept direct application from a supplier, manufacturer or alike for including its products in the CDB.

Recognition of the Construction Product Accreditation Scheme launched by the Building Technology Research Institute
The Construction Product Accreditation Scheme (CPAS) launched by the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) is a one-stop accreditation mechanism, compliant products are incorporated into a central database. This expands the construction products market and enables more high-quality and cost-effective products from the Chinese Mainland and overseas to be used in local engineering projects.
The Buildings Department has maintained close collaboration with BTRi. The acceptance criteria for building materials, components and construction systems specified in the Buildings Department Central Data Bank have been incorporated into the BTRi Product Specification (BPS). As a unified database, CPAS helps the Buildings Department streamline the acceptance process for building materials, components and construction systems for private projects. The Buildings Department will recognise the CPAS-approved products with a valid live certificate as a demonstration that a particular construction product fulfils the relevant acceptance criteria specified in the Buildings Department Central Data Bank.
