In accordance with the special work arrangement for government departments to significantly reduce the flow of people and social contacts to stop the virus from spreading in the community, the Buildings Department (BD) will adjust its public service to provide emergency and essential public services from 2 December to 15 December 2020.
Based on the experience gained in the past few months, the receipt and dispatch counter of New Buildings Divisions (NBDs) at 7/F, 14 Taikoo Wan Road, Hong Kong will be open from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) for receiving statutory submissions and related documents and forms for new building works, and for the applicants to collect the processed plans and related documents by appointment. All AP/RSE Rooms in the NBDs Office will remain to be closed temporarily. To facilitate BD's issuance of the notification of receipt of the submissions, applicants are requested to provide a copy of the covering letter. In addition, the handling time of these submissions would inevitably be longer than usual, particularly those to be processed under the centralised processing system.
While facilitation measures have been adopted to process your statutory submissions to the NBDs under the special work arrangement, you may wish to note your corporation to follow the corresponding arrangements in BD's "Measures for Facilitating Statutory Submissions under the Special Work Arrangement of NBDs of BD" is equally important. These measures and arrangements have uploaded to BD website under "Measures Special work arrangement of New Buildings Divisions of Buildings Department in 2020" in the page of "Practice notes and circular letters" under "Codes and references" of the "Resources" section.
BD will continue to closely liaise with the relevant professional institutions and stakeholder organisations when reviewing the above arrangement.
