In view of the latest situation, the Government announced on 7 February 2020 that the special work arrangement for government departments will be extended until 16 February 2020 in order to reduce the risk of social contacts and the spread of novel coronavirus in the community. The Government will review the situation before then. As such, the Buildings Department (BD) will continue to provide emergency services and other essential services, as well as basic and limited-scale public services [https://www.bd.gov.hk/en/whats-new/press-releases/2020/0208-buildings-department-extends-special-work-arrangements-to-february-16.html].
You may wish to note that the temporary closure of all receipt and dispatch counters for submission of plans, consent applications, occupation permit applications or other related documents will continue. Also, all AP/RSE rooms in the New Buildings Divisions office will not be open to the public. Regarding statutory submissions for new developments already received, BD will concentrate on processing plans, consent applications and occupation permit applications approaching due dates as well as the related site inspections. The situation will be closely monitored and reviewed in a timely manner.
Please contact us by email at vhs@bd.gov.hk for enquiries on urgent matters regarding statutory submissions of new development projects.
