Important Notes
Welcome to the Central Data Bank. A Central Data Bank (CDB) which contains lists of building materials, components and construction systems that have been accepted by individual government departments / organizations (the Administrator) has been set up.
Purpose
The CDB aims to provide a web-based point of reference to authorized persons, registered structural engineers and other parties concerned in the building industry (the User). It is intended to help sharing of information amongst the Administrators and to enhance public access to information. It is not exhaustive on any matter in question.
Scope
The CDB contains historical information on building materials, components and construction systems that have been accepted by the individual Administrator. Such materials, components or systems have been assessed for a particular project to comply with the requisite technical specifications or standards administered by the respective Administrator based on tests carried out at a specific time.
Use of Data
The User who makes use of or relies on any information in the CDB shall take full responsibility for the application and performance of the building material, component or construction system. The User should ensure that the materials, components and systems adopted have been properly tested to site specific situation with the requisite technical specifications or standards to ensure continuing performance since it was last tested.
Using a building material, component or construction system that appears on the lists shall not be construed as automatic acceptance to a project by the respective department/organisation.

The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSARG”) does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy and suitability of the information contained in the CDB in any particular case. The Government of the HKSAR disclaims all liabilities for any loss or damage to any person arising from or as a consequence of the use of or reliance on any information contained in or omitted from the CDB. Users are strongly advised to seek independent professional advice in any particular case.
Updating of Information
The Administrator reserves the right to change, alter, add or delete, revise and update any information contained in the CDB at such time and in such manner as it considers appropriate. Notwithstanding anything herein contained, the Administrator is not obliged to and shall not be required to keep all the information contained in the CDB up-to-date.
