Registration
The Building Authority keeps separate registers
of authorized persons, structural engineers,
registered geotechnical engineers, registered general building contractors and
registered specialist contractors
for those persons who
are qualified to perform their respective statutory duties under the Buildings Ordinance.
Applicants for inclusion in the register must possess the relevant qualifications,
experience and competence and may be required to attend an interview before the respective
registration committee constituted under the Buildings Ordinance.
Application forms for inclusion may be obtained from the Buildings Department at the
counter on 12/F of Pioneer Centre, 750 Nathan Road, Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

| Building Ordinance |
The
Buildings Ordinance and regulations are updated in step with advances in technology and
changes in circumstances.
The Department enforces the law and prosecutes offenders with firm rigour.
In parallel with enforcement action, it also has public education programmes to promote
building safety and preventive maintenance.
