Officers are on duty round-the-clock to deal with emergencies affecting the safety of private buildings. This 24-hour emergency service maintains close liaison with the police command and control centres.
An Emergency Control Centre is activated upon the hoisting of Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or in times of very severe and prolonged rainfall and other natural disasters. The centre coordinates expeditious professional services on dangerous buildings, hillsides, scaffolding and signboards.
